when it came down to it, lucy was a normal twenty-three year old girl. kind of. despite...well, everything. the fact that her pictures her in magazines and her face could be seen in quite a few popular movies. and fine, she was famous. no big deal. despite that, she lived her life just like every other woman her age. woke up in the morning, spent two hours getting ready, and then went and did whatever she had planned for the day. which okay, no. she really wasn't anything like them. because what lucy had planned wasn't school, or some mediocre job, or going out to lunch with her friends...it was usually more along the lines of getting her nails done, going and doing some shooting for her next movie, trying out for roles, meetings with her agents. and yes, in-between all of that she worked to find time for herself. which was much easier when no one knew about her. now when she went to her favorite restaurant she got bombarded by people asking for autographed pictures, or talking about her latest movie. which was...nice. it gave her an ego boost, and made her feel good about herself. but yeah. it was also pretty fucking annoying at times. lucy loved her job. she loved the fame. she loved going to fancy parties, and walking on the red carpet in her expensive shoes. and she loved being able to show her parents how far she was going in her life, that they actually seemed proud of her. but sometimes she just wanted to sit back and relax. but even in her own house she couldn’t do that anymore...not now that her brother was staying with her. not that she was complaining. she’d asked her little eighteen year old brother to come and stay with her for a while. to give her parents, who were both really too old for a teenage boy, a break.
but of course she still managed to find time to go out. going out was different than going and getting something to eat. for some reason when she was out drinking, none of her fans bugged her. sure, some people talked to her...she liked that. they treated her like a real person. just anyone else, sitting at the bar, drinking a martini, or dancing, or whatever she was doing. of course every now and then she’d still have some random person talk to her about her movies, but it was different. or maybe it was the fact that she was usually pretty drunk. lucy wasn’t an alcoholic by any means of course. but she was young, and she liked to go out and have a good time. even if in all reality she wasn’t exactly your average twenty-three year old, she at least had that in common with them. she’d even went on a blind date...which was something that lucy usually didn’t do. she just didn’t. she didn’t think it was above her, it was just never that appealing. but her friend had promised her he was a nice guy, and she’d actually heard a bit about him...and her friend had been right. at first it had actually been awkward, because somehow, they’d wound up pretty much wearing the same shirt. and she was pretty sure he thought she was just some snobby actress baby bitch who thought she was better than everyone else. not true. although she probably came off like such to a lot of people. it wasn’t like she was born in the spotlight. she was born to a pretty middle class family. her acting, while she’d done commercials and such a lot, hadn’t really started up until she reached the age of seventeen, and got her first part on a show. and it just all kind of went up from there.
but of course it got busy. a lot. and lucy hadn’t relaxed in days. the last three days or so had been full of one very important party, getting ready for said party, practicing her lines, and even doing one audition. which she was pretty sure she’d completely failed in, but whatever. she just needed to relax. and for some reason lucy didn’t relax like normal people. she didn’t curl up in bed with a book, or watch television. instead she found herself throwing on her party clothes and she was out the door before she even knew what was happening. and then she found herself drinking a few martini’s. she really wasn’t an alcoholic, but she enjoyed going out...and when it was sitting there, and she had a fully loaded wallet, well, how could she say no? admittedly though, despite the fact that she liked to party quite a bit she was horrible with her alcohol. and after just one or two drinks she was already feeling tipsy. but she wasn’t a bad drunk or anything. just a little giggly. and probably talked a little too much. but for once no one was talking to her, harassing her about some movie, or trying to get into her pants just so when they went home telling trips about california they could say they fucked a movie star. ha. and just as the young woman was about to order her third drink, someone caught her eye. she couldn’t help but gigle. it was definitely him. no mistaking it. she hadn’t really seen him, or even talked to him much since their “date”, other than a little bit online. and fine, she’d kind of texted him a lot...but he didn’t seem interested. which took a bit of a blow on her ego. nonetheless, despite the fact that she should have been playing all girly and waiting for him to come to her, she stood up and walked right over to where he was standing. “hey there!” she said sweetly, suddenly wishing she’d ordered a drink just so she could have something to do with her hands. “look, we don’t match this time!” she was pretty much acting like they’d arranged to meet up...even though they definitely hadn’t. and she was just seeming more like a stalker than ever. but she was kind of tipsy, so she’d use that as an excuse.

during his twenty five years of life, eduardo had only lived in hollywood for about three of them. he had been born, and raised, in orlando, florida. eduardo had liked orlando, still liked it of course. and his parents, and all his siblings lived around the orlando area, so he didn't get to see them a lot. and eduardo was close with his family. but that's what cell phones were for, right? exactly. and they did that skype stuff. well, he and his four other siblings did, not his parents. even though they were only in their fifties, they still didn't exactly cope well with technology. they were spanish, it was hard for them. though they knew english, they chose to just speak spanish at home, meaning eduardo was completely fluent and spanish was actually the first language he learned. when he had first gone to school he had definitely been made fun of because of his accent. but he didn't really care. the accent had lessened over the years, but girls still found it caliente when they had gotten to high school. not that eduardo had had many girlfriends. he had had an okay amount, all of them lasting at least a month though. he really wasn't one for one night stands or flings. he liked relationships. though he hadn't had many since he came to hollywood to do journalism. the people here were kind of...fake. and even if they didn't seem fake at first, they probably were once you got to know them more.
just like that actress eduardo had been set up with. they had gone on a 'blind date' the other night, about a week ago. she had seemed...nice enough. blonde, twenty three, nice body, funny, good at keeping a conversation going. but eduardo knew it was all an act. he had been studying journalism long enough to know these things. which is why he hadn't called her, even though he had kind of said he would. that was a shitty move, he knew. but what was he supposed to say at the end of the date? that he wasn't going to call her because she was just another fake hollywood actress? no, he couldn't say that. eduardo had been raised well, and he knew not to talk to girls like that. so he just told lucy, that was her name, that he wasn't interested in her. yet she still seemed adamant in making eduardo fall for her. he had even said that he had a boyfriend, though she really should have known this was a lie, considering the two had just done on a date the other day. apparently lucy, like pretty much every other hollywood 'star' seemed to be a bit air headed. and eduardo didn't exactly get turned on by girls who weren't that smart. he considered himself to be well read, and he had always gotten good marks in school, so he would rather have a girl who was...intellectual, instead of dumb and boring. and he was determined to find one in this city, though it probably wouldn't go very well.
and it was definitely not a good idea to be looking for girls at a club. well, okay, eduardo hadn't come to the club to find a girl really. his friend had dragged him there, claiming he needed a fun night out. and eduardo probably did. being a journalist was hard. he wrote all the time, meaning his hands were usually quite cramped up. but it was fun, he got to have an office right beside his best friend since forever, napolean ripley. that was fun. except sometimes napolean came into his office and stuck sticky notes everywhere. eduardo had known the man long enough to know he was completely obsessed with sticky notes. and cats. basically every time eduardo talked to napolean (which was a lot) he mentioned cats. now eduardo, he didn't like cats, considering he was allergic. but he put up with it, since he and napolean were best friends. though tonight eduardo had not come to this club with napolean, but rather a different friend from work, who had, well, ditched eduardo for some girl he had met. the girl had been good looking, so eduardo, being the nice guy he is, had told him to go for it. and now he was just sitting alone at the bar, drinking his scotch. eduardo wasn't typically one to go out and party and drink on a regular basis, so when he actually did he didn't feel guilty about throwing back a few drinks, and he was definitely tipsy at the moment. sadly, he had already looked around the club a few times, spotting no girl that caught his eye. until he heard someone saying 'hi' behind him, and eduardo was thinking maybe he had lucked out and a girl had come up to him. until he turned around. and saw lucy. now, if he wasn't so tipsy he would wonder if she was stalking him or something. it really seemed like it. she texted him all the time too. now, eduardo was nice...but it got annoying. but still, eduardo was tipsy, and none of that really bothered him at the moment. "hola." he smiled. "how are you?" he asked, taking a sip of his drink again. "oh, you are right." eduardo laughed when she mentioned they weren't matching. on their first 'date' they had ended up in the same plaid shirt. very awkward, i know. "that would be weird if we were. if i was wearing what you are wearing..." eduardo said. lucy was in a dress. a short dress too. it was sparkly....and nice.

if there was one thing about being "famous" or a "celebrity" or any of those other labels that were slapped on her every day, it was just that. being judged. of course everyone was judged...even if she wasn't famous she'd be judged in some way or another. but since she was, since she was an actress and her pictures always ended up in magazines, everyone automatically assumed she was just a fake bitch, who acted nice to the public, but didn't appreciate her fans, and blah blah blah. not true at all. she tried (tried being the operative word) to be as open and honest as she possibly could with the public. of course there were some things she refused to go into great detail about during interviews. her love life, her friends that she didn’t work with, and her family. but everything else she’d be as honest about as possible. of course she was only human...and yeah, maybe she wasn’t quite as happy as she seemed in most interviews, and yes, she was probably nicer in screen than off. but she still wasn’t some superficial hollywood bitch or anything. she really didn’t even look like it when you got down to it. yes, she had the blonde hair, but she was average height. only 5’4. and she wasn’t exactly stick thin like a lot of girls she worked with. her skin was clear now, but she’d had a bad case of acne until she was fifteen and got a bit of “help”. what people didn’t get about her was that even though she was an actress, that they saw her on television and read about her, they didn’t really know her. so judging her was just like judging some random person on the side of the street, just because they looked unconventional. then again, people did seem to do that anyway.
and so it was probably because of that, that lucy always tried not to judge people. well there were some examples. like she did judge Michael Jackson rather harshly, despite the fact that the man was dead and now everyone seemed to want to suck his dick - metaphorically speaking, of course. but the guy had done some shitty things in her life...and his face was pretty messed up. and she had absolutely no tolerance when it came to drugs. she’d never done it in her life, despite the bits of peer pressure she’d gotten back in high school. she’d always wanted to try marijuana, just so she could see what was so great about it, but she hardly doubted she would. the girl could drink her weight in alcohol, but if you told her that you spent half of your pay check on crack she’d look at you like you were slime. which probably made her a bit of a hypocrite, but oh well. and yes, she could kind of tell that eduardo was just writing her off as some stupid blonde who grew up in LA...and of course other than the blonde thing, that was all wrong. she really wasn’t that stupid. fine, she didn’t have a genius IQ, and she’d been home schooled the last two years high school because of her acting, and hadn’t even gone to college...but she liked to think she was pretty smart. maybe not book smart, but she had common sense at least. and that was probably a part of the reason she was so set on getting him - she wanted to prove to him that she wasn’t just another young woman sucked into hollywood, forced to put on a fake smile. even if sometimes she kind of was.
and he was just kind of cute, and nice...and spoke spanish. lucy had continued her spanish classes even after she stopped public schooling, so she was fluent...and found it kind of sexy. and fine, she kind of liked to show off the fact that she could speak spanish to the guy...because even though he’d denied it, she liked to think it probably turned him on or something. but he was nice...even though lucy seemed like she was stalking him, he wasn’t staring at her oddly, or telling her to get the fuck out or anything. he was saying hi. asking how she was. and laughing at her lame attempt at a joke...although she was pretty sure he was as slightly drunk as she was at the moment. “i’m good. great now that i get to see you. i haven’t seen you in forever.” yes, this was her lame attempt at being flirtatious, and she even let out a pathetic little giggle. not even noticing the fact that she seemed more like a stalker than anything else. of course she hadn’t seen him in forever...they weren’t friends. and he had a boyfriend. and even though she pretended to be confident that she could turn him straight, or something, she was kind of nervous about that. this was uncharted territory. she’d never actually had feelings for a gay guy. hit on one by accident? yes. but that was different. but she let out yet another giggle and shrugged her shoulders. “yeah it probably would...but i’m sure you’d still look muy guapo ” (translation: very handsome) [/i] “in a sparkly dress like mine.” yeah, probably not the best thing to say to a supposedly gay guy...she didn’t know what he liked to do on his weekends. “so what are you doing here?” she questioned lightly, smiling at him playfully. “where’s your boyfriend?” the last part was probably a little bitter, and she didn’t even try to hide it. if the guy didn’t get the hint that she wanted him by this point, then he was really just too stupid for her to be bothering with. and she obviously would not approve of a guy she kind of wanted to have a boyfriend, now would she?
